Sports Integrity Week 2022 kicks off Monday, September 12 in Portugal

September 9 – SIGA Sports Integrity Week 2022 begins Monday and will run for four days (September 12-16) in Cascais, Portugal.

This is the first time since the Covid-19 lockdown that SIGA has hosted its flagship Sports Integrity Forum in person. In March 2019, SIGA was forced to cancel its meeting in New York as the pandemic took hold.

In addition to the in-person event - hosted just outside Lisbon by the Municipality of Cascais at NOVA SBE Business School - the event will also be available online.

Registration for the live stream is free and available on the SIGA website.

SIGA has also published the full event guide which can be downloaded here.

There will be over 250 speakers during the week, including La Liga boss Javier Tebas and Paul Elliott, chairman of the English FA Inclusion Advisory Board, as well as Qatar 2022 chief Hassan Al-Thawadi, UEFA financial sustainability guru Andrea Traverso and European leagues president Claus Thomsen.

Topics covered will range from good governance, financial integrity and anti-corruption, to youth development and child protection, as well as sports betting integrity, technology, innovation and sustainability, gender and race, diversity and inclusion.

In addition to the new speakers unveiled, Sports Integrity Week has also engaged with over 60 high-level organizations, including the Portuguese Government, United Nations, European Commission, OECD, UEFA, Premier League, LaLiga, Portuguese League, The FA, Qatar 2022 World Cup Organizing Committee, FIA, Nascar, Yale University.
