Strictly Come Dancing returns to Blackpool after a two-year break , according to the BBC confirmed.

The dance competition missed its traditional trip to the station's Tower Ballroom in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19.

Blackpool has been the location for a number of Strictly memorable moments over the years, such as politician Ed Balls being dropped from the ceiling playing the piano before performing the Jive with his partner Katya Jones and actress Kara Tointon's stunning American Smooth with partner Artem Chigvintsev.

'Two dazzling routines'

Ms James said the show team "can't wait to get back to Blackpool".

"That's the icing on the cake to be able to confirm that we are returning to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom this year," she added.

The 20th series will see 15 celebrities compete for the glitter ball, with presenters Kym Marsh and Helen Skelton, former footballer Tony Adams, silver medalist Paralympic gold Ellie Simonds and singer Matt Goss among those competing.
