Suspect arrested as 4 girls drugged at birthday party wake up en route to Libya

A suspected human trafficker, Muideen Adebisi, has been apprehended by the Osun State Command of the Nigerian Police after he attempted to abduct four teenage girls from Ile-Ife in the state of Osun and take them to Libya.

According to the police spokesperson, three victims managed to escape and contact their parents after regaining consciousness.

However, the PPRO said the fate of the remaining fourth victim remains unknown.

“The suspect (Muideen Adebisi), invited the young girls to a birthday party at a hotel in Ile-Ife and gave them food and drink. girls fell asleep and then woke up in Kano state en route to Tripoli, the capital of Libya."

"Three of the girls miraculously escaped to Kano and called their parents, who reported the matter to the police.

“Three of the girls have been reunited with their families, but the fate of the fourth girl was not known at the time of filing this report,” the statement read.

During questioning, police said the suspect insisted that the four girls had voluntarily agreed to work in Libya and that his brother, who resides in Tripoli, told him ordered to fetch girls and send them to a man in Kano who would take them to Libya.
