Tinubu's victory: why the PDP protested at the INEC headquarters - Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, said his party had protested at the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja because all the provisions of the current electoral law had been completely violated.

DAILY POST previously reported that Atiku led a protest at the INEC national headquarters in Abuja.

PDP President Iyorchia Ayu, other party leaders and supporters were also present during the protest at INEC headquarters.

Speaking to reporters outside the gate of the INEC headquarters in Abuja, Atiku also vowed that the protest would continue.

Atiku said, “All provisions of the current election law have been completely violated. We were protesting, then INEC didn't listen and announced the result.

“This is why we are protesting. We have the right to protest and this will continue for a very long time, every day or any other day.

“We have the right to protest under the constitution, and that does not prevent us from going to court,” he said.

Atiku and his Labor Party counterpart Peter Obi lost the February 25 presidential election to APC's Bola Tinubu.

The former vice-president came in second place behind the winner and president-elect Tinubu.
