Tommy Dorfman got engaged to a woman 1 year after coming out publicly as transgender

Tommy explained that his fiancée was a cisgender woman and explained that she started exploring her feelings for women after she divorced her ex-husband, Peter Zurkuhlen, in February.

"I knew I was interested in women in a way that I hadn't really realized since high school," Tommy explained. "I had this unresolved and unexplored thing." Tommy and Peter got engaged in April 2015 and married a year and a half later. They separated in 2021, with Peter officially filing for divorce in February 2022. After the separation, Tommy began to explore what it was like to be with women. "I was like, 'This is the year I'm going to date girls and feel that again and not be ashamed of it,'" she revealed.
