She said that Danjuma, in line with her concern for the safety of the victims of the insurgency and the welfare of the security forces, had approved the reconstruction of the perimeter fence of the Askira police station and the police barracks in Askira, Borno State.< /p>

She urged the beneficiaries of the intervention, namely the Nigerian Police, to make good use of the facility to improve their security operations to protect the lives of the people of Askira Uba.

She explained that VSF's mission is to help post-insurgency people rebuild lives and aid in the rapid recovery of victims, adding, "That's why in the past we've built several primary schools, helping children return to school, training teachers to ensure children receive a good education, empowering women to rebuild their lives, and helping farmers return to their farms in Askira.”

But commending the VSF for their post-insurgency recovery efforts, the commissioner, Gubio, said the VSF had supported the resettlement of more than 80,000 people to their ancestral lands in 13 local government areas in the state , noting that the action had helped in large measure by ensuring that distressed communities were resettled.

“It is therefore safe to say that the VSF remains one of our earliest collaborators and strongest allies supporting our recovery campaign and we remain very grateful for the collaborative efforts,” Gubio added.
