Nottinghamshire: England striker Ben Duckett and club captain Steven Mullaney sign new deals

Duckett, 28, scored 1,012 points at an average of 72.28, including three centuries, to help Notts win promotion to the second division of the county championship.

He signed a new three-year contract, while Mullaney, 36, skipper of the Division Two champion team this summer, has signed for two years. .

The versatile Mullaney has made 429 appearances in all formats since joining Trent Bride in 2010, and has amassed 12,830 runs and claimed 334 wickets.< /p>

"The group that is being formed, there is no reason why we cannot be hugely ambitious and strive to be top in all formats in the future," he told the club's website.

Duckett's form for Notts in 2022 has earned him a place on England's current tour of Pakistan where he scored his first hundred Test in Rawalpindi.< /p>

"He now receives the rewards for all t hard work he put in," Notts head coach Peter Moores said.

"It was during the winter of 2019-20 that he was totally committed to improving his own game and hasn't looked back since. He has become a key player for us in all formats."

Duckett joined the Northamptonshire club at midway through the 2018 season and scored nearly 4,700 runs across all game formats.

He was also the Notts Outlaws' leading run-scorer in this summer's T20 Blast with 396 in 14 games and played for Welsh Fire in The Hundred.

His international career started in Bangladesh in 2016 and he has so far played six Tests, three One-Day matches and eight T20 internationals.

"I feel like my game is in the right place, which I guess is largely the result of so many hard work over the past three or four years working on my technique and building on the coaching support from Notts," the southpaw said.

"I have tried to be as positive as possible, and this approach has worked well for me over the past two years.

"The role Notts played in this was huge; I had the support to get out and be positive, don't be afraid to come out and take responsibility that I had at the top of the command."
