Sen. Ted Cruz says his teenage daughter is doing "fine" after cops were called to his Texas home on Tuesday night for a medical emergency.
Houston PD responded to Cruz's home in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston around 8 p.m. after receiving a report of a 14-year-old with self-inflicted stab wounds to the arm. The senator, his wife Heidi and their 2 daughters, aged 11 and 14, live in the house.
One person was rushed to hospital for treatment. Although police won't release the patient's name, Cruz's rep released a statement to ABC News, saying..."This is a family affair and luckily their daughter is doing well."
It is unclear if Senator Cruz was home at the time, or who called 911.
Her rep adds, "There were no serious injuries. The family asks the media to respect their daughter's privacy at this time."
