Redmond leaves Southampton despite interest from Turkey

Nathan Redmond is set to leave Southampton, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The Saints have received three offers for the winger's services, all coming from the Turkish Super Lig where the transfer window won't close until Thursday. The three offers came from Istanbul, the three Turkish football giants, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

The 28-year-old attracted interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton and Bournemouth during the summer window in England, but as no moves materialized the Turkish suitors felt encouraged to make their own moves.

Redmond has entered the final year of his contract at St. Mary's, which obviously means Southampton would have to receive some sort of modest fee for letting him go early. They have already received official offers from all three clubs and remain in talks with each of them.

Southampton are determined to respect Redmond's wishes in recognition of his contribution and conduct to the club since arriving from Norwich City in 2016. During that time he has scored 21 goals in 195 appearances in all competitions of the club.
