"Honk for Jesus" by Regina Hall. Save your soul.' Mockumentary Trailer

Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. Trailer

"We need you in this pulpit!" Focus Features has revealed the official trailer for the satirical comedy Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul., which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The film plays like a mockumentary about a wealthy and very posh pastor and the first lady of a Southern Baptist mega-church. It follows them through a huge scandal, trying to move on from what they've done and recover and rebuild their congregation. Regina Hall portrays Trinitie Childs and Sterling K. Brown portrays Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs. It's a funny look at how these "mega churches" are ridiculously scam and awful, and how these people are incredibly fake and will do anything to maintain their perfect image of God, even if it's bullshit complete. The cast includes Nicole Beharie, Conphidance, Austin Crute, Devere Rogers, Robert Yatta and Greta Glenn. It received mixed reviews during Sundance, but it looks better than it looks, with the doc Christopher Guest-esque style complimenting the goofy humor pretty well.
