Rishi Sunak has issued a veiled warning to Boris Johnson not to undermine his new Brexit deal, insisting it's not about 'personalities'.

The Prime Minister has admitted the controversial Northern Ireland Protocol - signed by Mr Johnson - needs to be corrected as he launches a charm offensive to promote his Brexit deal.

After years of wrangling over Brexit, Mr Sunak and EU leader Ursula von der Leyen agreed a new deal yesterday to address trade issues in Northern Ireland caused by the UK's departure of the EU.

But Mr Sunak must sell the deal to the Democratic Unionist Party and his own Brexiteer backbenchers, including the former Prime Minister.

"But it's not about any of us, it's not about personalities, it's not about Westminster. It's about the people of Northern Ireland and what which is best for them.

"This agreement, the Windsor framework, means that the issues that have been raised, the challenges that people have faced, these can and will be resolved...
