Robert Downey Jr. praised Chris Hemsworth for 'Avengers: Endgame' improvisation: He hit the 'Sweet Spot'

Chris Hemsworth reached the height of his career thanks to the praise of Robert Downey Jr. during "Avengers: Endgame".

Hemsworth recalls hesitating to improvise an emotional scene as Thor, dealing with post-Thanos loss.

"Yeah, you're always like, 'Is this gonna work,' you know? I mean, I remember that scene [in 'Avengers: Endgame]' where I kind of start to m collapse, introducing the mission to everyone, and talking about my family, and who died, and so on…just little moments like that in your career where everything lines up, and there's been a little improvisation, and so on," Hemsworth recalled during the . "And I think it ended when I said, 'I want a Bloody Mary,' to Downey, and he said to me, "How are you feeling?" I said, "Yeah, I forgot, that's pretty special. /p>

Hemsworth continued, "He says, 'Once in a while, a few times in your career, you have little moments where you hit the bullseye and it's like you're in the right place.' he said, "Oh, enjoy it." And I really appreciated that, because I really felt something special about that moment, but who am I to judge, you know? And so , for the godfather to lean over and say, 'Well done, my son…'”

The 2019 film marked Downey's final stint as Iron Man, with Hemsworth now hinting at exiting the role of Thor.

“I feel like we should probably close the book if I do it again, you know what I mean? I feel like that probably justifies it,” Hemsworth told Vanity Fair. "I feel like this would probably be the final, but it's not based on what anyone told me or any plans."

Hemsworth noted that he's "completely open" to another "Thor" movie if "there's something unique, fresh, and unexpected to do with the character and the world," a much like the episodes of Taika Waititi. “I've always enjoyed the experience. I was so grateful that I got to do something different each time,” Hemsworth said.
