Russian air defenses claimed to have shot down a mysterious UFO near the Sea of ​​Azov after seeing a “small ball-shaped object” in the sky.

The regional governor of Rostov Oblast, Vasily Golubev, said that a "small-sized ball-shaped object", much like a UFO, was destroyed by anti-aircraft missiles on Tuesday, January 3.

The regional governor wrote on Telegram that the "object" was spotted above the village of Sultan Sala in the Myasnikovsky district, at an altitude of about one and a half miles.

The unidentified object was immediately targeted by local air defenses.

A local media called Pivyet Rostov said that "a ball-shaped UFO was shot down in the sky".

Explaining that a decision has been made to "liquidate" the flying object, Golubev urged people to remain calm.
