Southampton interested in Aston Villa striker Danny Ings

Southampton are interested in signing Danny Ings from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window, according to 90min. The report claims Saints are one of three clubs keen to secure the services of the former Liverpool forward midway through the season.

Ings has been on Villa's books since the summer of 2021 when he joined Premier League rivals Southampton for £25million. The 30-year-old England striker has so far failed to make a massive impact on the Villans, and the club are ready to sell him now.

The former Liverpool striker made eight Premier League starts and eight substitute appearances for Villa last season, scoring five goals in the process. Ings made 22 starts and eight substitute appearances in the league for the Villans last season, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.
