Sunak and Starmer to face off in final BBC election debate days before general election

The BBC will host the final general election debate between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer, the corporation has confirmed.

Both leaders parties will face off on June 26 in what will be the final televised debate of the campaign.

The debate will be moderated by BBC presenter Sophie Raworth and will take place in Nottingham, broadcast on the BBC. One and BBC News on June 26.

It comes as Mr Sunak and Sir Keir prepare for their first televised leaders' debate of the election campaign, which will be broadcast on ITV on Tuesday June 4.< /p >

Elsewhere on the BBC, Mishal Husain will host a debate on June 7 between figures from the Conservative Party, Labor Party, Liberal Democrats, Scottish National Party (SNP), Plaid Cymru, Green Party and Reform UK.

Labor has said Sir Keir will not take part in the seven-party debate, while Mr Sunak is yet to decide.

Coverage BBC Election Day also includes a two-hour Question Time. special leaders' show, hosted by Fiona Bruce, on June 20.

Leaders from the four largest political parties – the Conservative Party, Labor Party, Liberal Democrats and SNP, will answer questions from the studio audience for 30 hours. minutes each.

It is understood that Mr Sunak and Sir Keir have both signed up for the final debate on June 26, as well as the Question Time special, with the company awaiting confirmation of participants for the first debate.
