Super Toys: Keke Palmer and Sacha Baron Cohen lead the next David O. Russell film

Nope star Keke Palmer and Golden Globe winner Sacha Baron Cohen have officially signed on for the lead roles in David O. Russell's upcoming Super Toys movie. This is Cohen's first film project in nearly two years, having last provided the voice for Pixar's 2021 film Luca.

According to Deadline, Super Toys will be written and directed by David O. Russell, who is best known for his work in award-winning films like The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook, and American Hustle. His most recent directorial effort was the mystery comedy thriller Amsterdam, which reunited him with longtime collaborator Christian Bale. The all-star film was considered a box office failure for only earning a worldwide gross of $31 million against a reported budget of $80 million.

"The film centers on a pair of groovy '70s toy salesmen on a life-and-death mission to save themselves, their marriage, and their 12-year-old daughter live on the road in Central America" , reads the synopsis.

Super Toys will be produced by Charles Roven for Atlas Entertainment and Matthew Budman for Dreamcrew Entertainment. The project is currently on sale in the European film market, with FilmNation Entertainment handling international sales while CAA is selling its US distribution deal.
