The Scary Battle Against Abortion Examined in 'Battleground' Trailer

Battleground Doc Trailer

"By forcing people to have children, you keep them in this cycle..." It's all about this cycle, it's all about maintaining power and control, it's all about 'oppression. Abramorama has just released an official trailer for a documentary film titled Battleground, which is a chilling look at anti-choice movements and how maligned and irrational they are. This premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and opens in theaters in early October. Battleground is an urgent and timely window into the intersection of abortion and politics in America, following three women who lead formidable anti-abortion organizations to bear witness to the enormous influence that they exercise. As the nation faces the end of Roe, the film also portrays those on the front lines of the uphill struggle to maintain access. "As the anti-abortion movement topples Reo, Battleground portrays those on the front lines of the uphill struggle to maintain access to abortion." I'm still in shock that what's happening in America now, when it was already settled for a long time. Far too many people have lost it - meet some of them in the doc.

Here is the first official trailer (+ poster) for Cynthia Lowen's Battleground documentary, straight from YouTube:

Who are the anti-abortionists? What are they motivated by, what do they believe in, how do they operate and what are their goals? Battleground enters the anti-choice movement like never before to answer these questions, with many surprises: they are women, young people, even democrats. With close access, the film shows how the anti-choice movement strategizes and organizes, and its determination to overthrow Roe at any cost. As their power and influence propels the Supreme Court to the right and states rush to enact unconstitutional bans on abortion, the film also portrays those on the front lines of the uphill struggle to maintain access. Battlefield em> is directed by award-winning producer/filmmaker Cynthia Lowen, who previously directed the documentary film Netizens. Produced by Rebecca Stern and Cynthia Lowen. This originally premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. Abramorama will debut Battleground in select US theaters on October 7, 2022 and on VOD later that month.
