"Conservative governments have failed all the tests - it's time for a general election"

If Labor were to win the next election - and the odds say so - they would inherit a difficult set of circumstances. It is going to be difficult. But it's better than continuing as we are

But we've had enough of successive governments, each worse than previous - and now Liz Truss -Her-Chancellor.jpg But we've had enough of successive governments, each one worse than the next - and now Liz Truss (

As a country, we have endured a lot in recent years.

The doomed Coalition, the madness of austerity, the Brexit crisis, the failed management of the pandemic.

Sleaze, lobbying, intimidation, oligarchs. Plebgate, Piggate, Partygate.

Board cuts, war on benefits. Closing of libraries and Sure Start centers.

Legal aid cut, inmates banned from having books, rail network in tatters. Ferry companies without ferries.

(These were all Chris Grayling, but it's unfair to single him out.)

So Prime Minister David Cameron and Jeremy Hunt, who was Health Secretary at the time

It was Dave and Theresa and Boris. Priti and Suella. Not to mention Dom. Dom classic.

Disaster upon disaster upon disaster. Sometimes it was almost unbelievable.

Who would have guessed, for example, that in the depths of 2019 the government would illegally shut down parliament for a while because it was in the way?

For the past few weeks - after all we've been through, all we've suffered - staggering Liz Truss, put there by a handful of out-of-touch Tory members.
