Tottenham duo Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele join Galatasaray

Tottenham have confirmed the transfers of Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele to Galatasaray.

While the English transfer window closed on Friday night, other transfer windows in Europe remain open and Turkish side Galatasaray have signed two players Spurs consider redundant.

The banned Ndombele joins Galatasaray on loan for the rest of the season, with the option of making the transfer permanent, while Sanchez, who has played under Ange Postecoglou twice this season, has been granted a permanent transfer .

The duo's departures will be a boost for Postecoglou, who has repeatedly made clear his desire to cut a bloated first team.

Ndombele will get his Champions League footballing wish come true by signing for the Turkish Superliga in what is set to be his third consecutive loan spell away from Spurs since joining in 2019.

The France international initially had a chance to revive his Tottenham career with the arrival of Postecoglou, but a pre-season ankle injury was followed by poor timing issues which saw the Australian manager give the green light to depart from Ndombele.

Sanchez will follow him to Galatasaray in a deal worth around €15m (£12.8m), which ends his six-year association with the team from North London.

Colombia centre-back Sanchez made 207 appearances for Tottenham after joining from Ajax but had a mixed spell, with his last outing for the club coming in a penalty shoot-out loss to Fulham in the Carabao Cup where his shot on goal was recorded.
