Aston Villa linked with Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon

Aston Villa are interested in signing Unai Simon from Athletic Bilbao during the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report claims the Villans are in the market for a new goalkeeper and they have the Spain international on their radar.

Simon has been on Bilbao's books since 2016 and has established himself as the Basque club's number one goalkeeper. The 25-year-old is also the first choice between the positions for Spain and played for his country in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Villa are currently 12th in the Premier League table with 18 points from 15 appearances, five points above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Bilbao currently find themselves fourth in the La Liga table with 24 points from 14 games.
