A physical climate risk ranking of every state, province and territory around the world released today identifies the 2,600 jurisdictions around the world that are most at risk from climate change and extreme weather events.

The Chinese provinces of Jiangsu and Shandong top the world rankings, according to .

More than half of the top 50 provinces in the world are in China, making it the country with the highest risk provinces in the world.

After China, the United States has the highest risk states with 18 states in the top 100. Florida was identified as the highest ranked US state, followed by California and Texas.

In total, China, India and the United States account for more than half of the states and provinces in the top 100.

Other countries with multiple provinces and states in the top 50 are Brazil, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

In Europe, high-ranking states include the cities of London, Milan, Venice, Antwerp, Hanover, and Lille.

The XDI report also identified several other highly developed and globally significant economic hubs in the top 100.
