Tyson Fury cancels Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk fight as 'negotiations' confirmed

Tyson Fury says he's not "too concerned" about the outcome of the Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk rematch next month as he sets his sights elsewhere. 'The Gypsy King' has confirmed that it has entered into negotiations with Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson for a blockbuster exhibition.

Talk of Fury fighting the winner of Usyk and Joshua has been widespread, but the Gypsy King has dismissed that option, seemingly writing it off as a possible 2022 fight. Speaking to , he said: "I I'm not too worried with Anthony Joshua and Usyk in Saudi Arabia next month, whoever wins, because I've achieved everything I wanted as a professional boxer, undefeated and having won all the belts." He there are so many other things I can go on and do. ”

Instead, he confirmed that he will face Bjornsson. Speaking of the fight, he said: "It would be kind of fun. It would be great to walk in front of, say, 70,000 fans and show them what boxing is, and make them miss and knock them out. "We're talking to his team right now and that's definitely something I'm interested in."

'The Mountain' recently confirmed talks are underway, and his trainer Billy Nelson told Express Sport last week that Bjornsson's next fight was about to be announced.

Boxing fans had hoped Fury would face the winner of Usyk and Joshua after the Manchester giant teased a retirement U-turn for the undisputed crown. Fury initially offered to face the winner for a mouth-watering £500million purse, but has since claimed - in complete contradiction - that he will fight Joshua for free.

During a recent stop on his After Party tour, he said, "It's all about the money, Mr. Businessman [Joshua]; he's not a fighter. I swear to God I hope he wins the fight against Usyk so I can come out of retirement and fight him for free However the terms are these I want it at Wembley stadium I want it free and I want it want it on TV in the clear in this country. I'll fight it in England, not abroad in a foreign country for more money; here for free for the people."

Despite all the talk, Bjornsson remained confident that he will face Fury throughout. In an interview with iFL TV, Bjornsson issued a further warning to Fury as he spoke about the fight: "I can tell you that if that happened I would happily get in the ring and I would happily fight him. I said that from day one people asked me "do you want to fight Tyson Fury" and I always said "yes" It would be a huge honor for me to fight the best heavyweight boxer in the world and an amazing experience for me."

However, the heavyweight champion's promoter Frank Warren recently confirmed to Express Sport that conversations will not take place until the Mancunian completes his national retirement tour.

He said, "There's a lot going on right now, but to be honest, nothing has been done," Warren said. "Nothing will be done until I sit down with him. He's got his tour right now, so he's traveling around the country. Once that's done in a few weeks, he's got a little break between the two, so we'll sit down and chat."
