American trailer for the acclaimed Belgian film 'Close' directed by Lukas Dhont

A24 has unveiled a beautiful official US trailer for the acclaimed Belgian film titled Close, which originally premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. It is filmmaker Lukas Dhont's second feature film, his sequel to Girl, winning critical acclaim and the Grand Prix at Cannes. Many critics thought he should have won the Palme d'Or at Cannes this year for Ruben Ostlund's film - I was one of them to express exactly that sentiment. An unforgettable story of friendship and growth. The intense friendship between two thirteen-year-old boys, Léo and Rémi, is suddenly cut short. Struggling to understand what happened, Léo approaches Sophie, Rémi's mother. The film stars Eden Dambrine and Gustav De Waele as the two boys, with Émilie Dequenne and Léa Drucker. I praised this film in my Cannes review, proclaiming "it's a true work of art that exemplifies all that cinema can and should be".
