Victoria Beckham Pre-Fall 2023

This day-to-night collection was full of superficial interest, garland-like fringe on soft and fuzzy fabrics sweaters; chenille for a jersey coat and dresses with openwork eyelet details or gathers. It was versatile, comfortable and glamorous - no small feat.

Beckham and his new design team built the collections with new categories including lingerie, textured tights and bags and concoct resolutely modern looks with a palette of bright colors and youthful verve.

Long and short jersey dresses are available in colors such as chartreuse, cobalt and red with five alarms, some with gathers, others with draping, cutouts and long sleeves. Some were worn with very shiny Lurex jersey tights or layered over black opaques and lingerie with VB patterns.

Sewing was roomy and deconstructed. Jackets had double fronts and lapels, while sculptural black bras peeked out from under masculine gray suits with wide-leg pants.

There was also a surreal game element to the collection, with colors and textures that seemed they were swiped directly from the digital screen.

An all-in-one trouser boot with a high waist and an even higher heel had a shimmering surreal greens, while the fuzzy sweaters and delicate shimmering fringed minidresses were weird and wonderful, like new exotic creatures born yesterday in the metaverse.
