Watch: Horror Dark Comedy Short 'BabyThump' Directed by Ian Killick

BabyThump Short FIlm

"That's long! I don't see it working for us..." "Me neither." How's that for a horror movie pitch? What if you were suddenly woken up by the sounds of a crying baby, but you don't actually have a baby? What would you do? BabyThump is a British horror short film directed by filmmaker Ian Killick, produced by Anna McNutt. A couple, Donny and Marie, wake up one morning to find a baby has appeared in their apartment. Not knowing what to do and bewildered by the intrusion, they seek advice from the eccentric Dr. Hoofenhoffer. It feels like a very dark comedy even if there aren't a lot of jokes - it's the vintage styling and the goofy deadpan dialogue that makes it so fun. BabyThump stars Kathryn O'Reilly and Derek Elwood as the couple, with Brigid Lohrey as Dr. It's a simple concept brilliantly executed by the filmmakers. Great job.
