While many gadgets pass through our desks, at Engadget we also end up buying a lot of things for ourselves throughout the year. In 2022, some of us upgraded our televisions while others invested in new kitchen utensils and desk accessories that increased our productivity. I received a Nest Hub Max last year for Christmas and over the past 12 months it has probably brought me more joy than any other gadget. By setting up Google Photos to automatically upload photos of my son to an album linked to the Nest Hub, I get a slideshow every day of all the fun times we had. When people say kids grow up fast, they're absolutely right.
