Wilshere considers options for future after leaving Danish club AGF

Jack Wilshere is 'considering all my options' after the midfielder and Danish Superliga side AGF decided to part ways after five months.

The former Arsenal player arrived with the club in February on a short-term deal until the end of the season, making 14 appearances for the club which finished a point clear of relegation .

Wilshere, 30, had been without a club since being released by Bournemouth after the 2020-21 Premier League season, and had been training with Arsenal and Serie B club Como in a bid to stay fit.< /p>

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, he thanked the Danish club for taking a chance and giving him the opportunity to play again.

"My time at [AGF] is over," he wrote. "Me and the club mutually agreed that it was better for me to move on.

"I want to thank everyone at AGF for the support and trust they have given me from day one. The club has shown me a confidence that few others were willing to give. < /p>

“Although the results were hard to come by, the support from the fans for me and the team was amazing. Thank you guys for welcoming me to your club and your city.

"I wish you the best for the future. Personally, I am considering all my options."

AGF released a statement saying that they "benefited from Jack Wilshere's great footballing and people skills" and that "there was a dialogue thereafter about further cooperation, but after careful consideration, the parties have reached the conclusion that the agreement will not be extended.”

AGF Sporting Director Stig Inge Bjornebye added: "We all want to thank Jack for his time at AGF. It was a great pleasure working with him, meeting him and sharing his experiences of a very enjoyable and special career.”
