Woman finds out why she didn't look like her dad - after her mum was wrongly accused of cheating

A girl has opened up about the 'heartbreak' she went through after finding out the truth about why she looked nothing like her father.

Alyona Romanova, from Russia, said she grew up hearing the woman who raised her face endless taunts and being called a "cheat" by her own husband.

The locals even commented that she looked nothing like her father.

However, after 38 years of research, it turned out that she and another woman, Gulsina Kudryakova, had been raised by the wrong parents.

The revelation came after it was learned that doctors at a Soviet hospital in 1982 attached the wrong tags to newborn babies.

Alyona, who has typical Asian features like many inhabitants of the Siberian republic of Tuva, never thought anything different, although her parents looked Slavic.

She was raised by 78-year-old Valentina Baulina, who is actually the biological mother of Gulsina, who was raised by 67-year-old Vasilya Baimurzina.

Alyona said she remembered the incessant whispering from the village and the neighbors gossiping about her mother, saying it had "really hurt" her.

She went on to say that there had been rumors since she was born, but she didn't quite understand them until she was old enough.

In fact, she went so far as to say that there was "bitterness, maybe" in the relationship between her and her family after a while - because of the rumours. As his mother tried to keep him inside her, it all boiled over.
