The woman living in her car in Kerry due to lack of housing

A homeless woman lives in her car on a beach due to the lack of available housing.

Sharon Crandall moved from the United States to Kerry, Ireland 22 years ago. It has been parked along Dingle Beach for two months.

The 54-year-old refused to accept an offer of emergency accommodation because she would have to give up her two cats.

She described her pets as her 'family' and would not hesitate to refuse to give them up, reports the Irish Mirror.

But she added that life in her car - which started on July 8 - is "up and down, it's hard".

Sharon has all her things in the trunk and sleeps on a duvet in the back.

Her cats' food bowls are on the dashboard, while she stows her groceries in a cooler.

She said a few days ago that she had to wait two hours until a "monsoon" subsided so she could run around the car and get in the back to fall asleep.< /p>
