Wonderful New Delhi Bird Documentary - 'All That Breathes' Trailer

Submarine Deluxe has unveiled an official trailer for All That Breathes em>, an acclaimed and award-winning film. winning documentary film about the birds of New Delhi by filmmaker Shaunak Sen. It premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize, and it also stopped at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it won the Golden Eye Award. It was also one of our 10 Best of the Fest movies at Sundance - clearly one of the best documentaries of that year. A Sideshow & Submarine Deluxe release in association with HBO Documentary Films, All That Breathes hits select theaters in October. Against the dark backdrop of Delhi's apocalyptic air and escalating violence, two brothers devote their lives to protecting a victim of turbulent times: the bird known as the Black Kite. These are the few people who care for these birds in this bustling city. And it's a wonderful, beautiful film about the importance of animals and how we also need to think about their rightful place on this planet.

In one of the most populous cities in the world, cows, rats, monkeys, frogs and pigs jostle cheek to cheek. Here, two brothers fall in love with a bird, the black kite. From their makeshift bird hospital in their tiny basement, the "kite brothers" care for thousands of these hypnotic creatures that fall daily from the smog-choked skies of New Delhi. As environmental toxicity and civil unrest escalate, the relationship between this Muslim family and the kite-neglected people forms a poetic chronicle of the city's collapsing ecology and rising social tensions. /em> All That Breathes is directed by Indian documentary filmmaker Shaunak Sen, his second feature after directing the documentary Cities of Sleep previously. It is produced by Shaunak Sen, Aman Mann and Teddy Leifer. It premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (one of our festival bests), where it won the World Cinema Grand Jury Documentary Prize. Submarine Deluxe will debut Sen's All That Breathes in select US theaters starting October 21, 2022 this fall. I highly recommend this documentary.
