'Yellowstone' Season 5 Episode 8: Craziest Moments and Burning Questions, From Jimmy's Return to Beth Hitting Jamie in the Head with a Rock

SPOILER ALERT:This post contains spoilers for Season 5, Episode 8 episode of "Yellowstone", "A Knife and No Coin", which premiered Sunday, January 1 on Paramount Network.

Happy New Year! The last time we went to see the Duttons was before Christmas and Jamie was plotting to impeach his father. On to this week's mid-season finale - the last episode until summer! - we reunite with old friends, plan assassinations and say goodbye to cowboys on their way to Texas. Dry your tears and drink some whiskey as you catch up on this week's recap:

Young Rip (Kyle Red Silverstein) seems quite confident as he throws his first person into the pit of Dutton's murder. I would sweat more! Young John (Josh Lucas) discussing branding with Young Rip, and the latter's subsequent acceptance by his fellow cowboys, was heartwarming. After a youth spent wandering, Rip finally has a home and a family! Oh, hello Jimmy (Jefferson White)! We missed you! Even though 6666 has turned Jimmy into a proper cowboy, he's still quite distracted by Emily (Kathryn Kelly) taking off her top to miss breakfast. At least he grew in his personal life too! Emily definitely has the toughest job having to ultrasound the horses rather than riding and stringing them all day. Jimmy should prepare his dinner. At least he makes up for it with foot rubs. Could this be the healthiest relationship on "Yellowstone"? Big laugh from John (Kevin Costner) coming to see Monica (Kelsey Asbille) directly to see if Kayce (Luke Grimes) can run the farm. Intelligent man! Wow, John hugging Kayce and saying, "I love you, son?" It's worrying. I'm obsessed with all the rough companies running ads during "Yellowstone": Tractor Supply Co., Ariat, Filson, Tecovas. They make me feel like such a rugged outdoorsman that, of course, I'll be buying a ticket to Gerard Butler's next action flick, simply titled "Plane." Jamie (Wes Bentley) has perfected his devastating smile. You are such a jerk, Jamie! It's a great cross between two Dutton men giving speeches. John's last word to the press before leaving was surprisingly exciting. John teaches Clara (Lilli Kay) how to deal with the "threat"...nice to see how this mentorship is going! I guess Beth (Kelly Reilly) doesn't like Summer (Piper Perabo) anymore? Hard to follow... "Where does your father live?" I will fuck him. Bless you, Beth. Beth's wild eyes are making me nervous… what will she do to Jamie?!? Wow, Teeter (Jennifer Landon) also said "I love you" to Colby (Denim Richards) this episode. So many emotions! How surprised is Jamie that Beth shows up in the middle of the night and does something crazy? Ouch! That rock on his head would cause brain damage to Jamie, right? I know it's a TV show, but yuck! Wait... Beth didn't know the station was a mass grave? It seems everyone involved in the ranch knew that! “Future generations, of which you have none…” Ouch, Jamie! Too low! Ugh Sarah (Dawn Olivieri), just stay upstairs! Jamie pretty much had the upper hand with Beth, and you took it from her. Beth, you can't kill Jamie and throw him at the train station. You would be at the top of the suspect list. Oh, but now Jamie is going to try to kill Beth? Can these two siblings ever get along?

See you this summer!
