Zimbabweans Participate in Wine Tasting in 'Blind Ambition' Trailer

Blind Ambition Doc Trailer

"Looking at my life, and where I've come from...and where I've been - I think I really believe in fate." Samuel Goldwyn Films debuted the soundtrack- official announcement of Blind Ambition, a fantastic documentary film about a group of Zimbabwean refugees who decide to create their own team and compete in the World Blind Wine Tasting Championship. I'm a HUGE fan of this documentary - I watched it last year for its premiere at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and loved it straight away. The film follows four lovable and humble Zimbabweans who become the first everyone in their country to take part in this very elite and very comfortable French wine tasting event - known as the "Olympics of the tasting of wines". Sure, they face tons of racism and xenophobia along the way, but their brotherhood, tenacity and passion for wine is so exceptional and inspiring that it's hard not to be completely moved (until to tears!) by their story. They are the best!! I've been waiting to share it with everyone and it finally opens in the US in September. Whether you like wine or not, this is a must watch.

Here is the official trailer (+ poster) of the documentary Blind Ambition by Robert Coe & Warwick Ross, on YouTube:

Blind Ambition Poster

Blind Ambition follows four friends who conquered the odds of becoming South Africa's top sommeliers after escaping famine and tyranny in their native Zimbabwe. Driven by relentless optimism, a passion for their craft and a sense of national pride, they form Zimbabwe's first national wine tasting team and aim for the coveted title of 'World Wine Tasting Champions' which is held annually in France. Blind Ambition is directed by documentary filmmakers Robert Coe and Warwick Ross, working together again after collaborating on the documentary film Red Obsession previously. Executive produced by George Hamilton, Cameron O'Reilly, Madeleine Ross, Isabelle Stewart and Paul Wiegard. This originally premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival last year. Goldwyn Films will launch Blind Ambition in select US theaters + on VOD starting September 2, 2022, soon. For more information, visit their official website. Who's curious?
