The Ridge Wallet is made of two pieces of metal sandwiched together with a rubber band and screws. There are additional accessories (more on those in a second), but the general premise is a refined, svelte container for the essential cards you need to keep. It can hold one to 12 cards and you can tighten or loosen the metal “sandwich” using the included Torx screws and screwdriver. You’ll use your thumb to fan out your cards, removing the ones you need, then when it’s time to put the card back in, you’ll slide it into the top of the sandwich. I keep my ID and debit card on the outermost parts of the stack for easier access, although it’s not too difficult to deploy them all (and you can always adjust the tension if necessary).
Once I got used to this fan and sandwich process, it became difficult to imagine anything else. I don’t want to go back to the days of having my overstuffed wallet in my overstuffed purse, digging through endless receipts trying to find my Costco membership card or whatever.
The Ridge wallet is customizable and modularAlso. There’s a money clip on the outside that can comfortably hold a few bills (I wouldn’t try to carry more than four) and the rubber band and screws are all replaceable. You can swap out different parts, like the faceplate or payment strap, and add things like a coin tray, tracking card, or wallet chain (which I use and really like). So your basic wallet will still have room for cards and some cash, but you can spend a little more to further personalize the experience.
There is also a MagSafe Version of this wallet, which I have not tested, but my other reviewers who tried it liked it. Ridge sells other everyday carry products like key ring Also. I’m considering buying these with my own money, because the only real problem I have with this wallet is that it doesn’t leave much room for life.

When I try to temper my penchant for inventory by minimizing the size of my purse, I always stuff it to the gills and end up carrying things loosely in my hands anyway. The Ridge Wallet is great for keeping track of my necessities, especially with the accessory chain that allows me to always take it out of my bag. But that doesn’t leave me much room to feel completely free from the burden of my loot.
