Barbie Pink Carpet Best Looks: Margot Robbie, Dua Lipa and More

If only Susan Sontag were alive today to rewrite her famous 'Notes on 'Camp', she could have had a blast at the 'Barbie' movie premiere, which took place at the Sanctuary Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night (and, as far as we know, she might even have been cast in the movie - it seems like every other person on Earth appeared in the trailer). If the movie's message is that we're all Barbie and Barbie is all of us, the pink carpet did a good job of reinforcing that message (at least that's what the cryptic trailers imply, but we're not safe, because no filters have been made available).

Would Mrs. Sontag have found the event serious enough? Many attendees paid homage to the plastic icon's palette and soft skin, but that's par for the course for Hollywood. Mattel must have been pleased with the carnival of branding.

Following a cavalcade of YouTube personalities and influencers like David Dobrik, stars like Greta Gerwig and Issa Rae are arrivals in the lead for pink toe. Cast members like Helen Mirren and Will Ferrell didn't make carpet appearances - a shame, because Mr. Ferrell would surely have looked great dressed as a Barbie. Alas.
