Our photos reveal villager support for Boris Johnson is already down just weeks after he moved into his new rural home.

They mocked the man who ended Brexit by hoisting three blue and gold European Union flags in their gardens. We even photographed the former prime minister jogging past one of the emblems last week.

The former Tory leader and wife Carrie, 35, moved to Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, near Wallingford, Oxfordshire, in May. A source said: "Some neighbors aren't exactly thrilled that Boris has moved in. His arrival caused a kerfuffle, as the man himself might put it. A villager hoisted the EU flag and he's also caught among a few others. Hope he sees the funny side."

Meanwhile Mr Johnson - who is applying for planning permission for a swimming pool - has yet to lend a helping hand to his local food bank. The manager explained that the Johnsons hadn't found time to visit since moving to the area when they were worth millions.
