A man was killed and another injured in a night of horror in Dublin.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was shot multiple times during the fatal incident in Ronanstown, Ireland's capital, around 10 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after being left for dead in the driveway of a house.

His body was evacuated by private ambulance on Tuesday morning.

There were moving scenes as distressed relatives gathered at the cordon as the victim's remains were carried away.

An extensive forensic investigation by members of the Garda Technical Office continued at the scene throughout the morning.

A Garda spokesman told local media last night: 'The Gardaí are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred at around 10pm tonight, Monday 5th December 2022, in the Ronanstown area of ​​Dublin 22 .

"A man was shot and was later pronounced deceased at the scene."
