Emporio Armani RTW Fall 2023

Roll up!

Circus Emporio Armani lands in the designer's Tadao Ando-designed theater with staging in the round- bump, and models who were smiling and really looking like they were having fun. They circled the stage dressed in jodhpurs, jewel-toned velvet jackets and sturdy knee-high boots, good enough to tame a lion or fire a cannon.

As a fashion show concept, it could have gone wrong, but this colorful and personalized version Big's high-end styling was sharp, energetic, and packed with classic, wearable retro-style pieces.

Jackets were the main attraction here, and came in a myriad of shapes and fabrics.< /p>

They were fitted with asymmetric or crossed buttons with a hussar touch. There were cropped gray herringbone schoolboy styles and one-button velvet designs in emerald or sapphire tones.

The jackets were adorned with contrasting ties or rosettes, and layered over white shirts with high collars and tied, or blouses with contrasting ruffles. Armani completed his looks with bowler hats and casual berets that gave the look a chic, old-world feel.

Dresses ranged from understated to elegant — as in a short black A-line number worn with a pearly white tied scarf - in a dramatic style of silver sequins with a large black rosette at the neck. Skirts were bouncy, with iridescent layers, while a pink wool skater style had an '80s vibe.

Some side shows were disappointing. Pink and purple prints on the wide-leg pants were loud and clownish, while the bubblegum-colored furs looked like they'd left "The Muppet Show."

Still, Armani said he had fun putting it all together, and it showed. This chic circus should roll around town more often.
