England hero Beth Mead cuts BBC interview short after Sweden's historic Euro 2022 victory

Beth Mead has decided to cut her interview short the day after England's stunning four-goal victory over Sweden in their Euro 2022 semi-final on Tuesday night. Mead opened the scoring in the first half with a close range finish before Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo and Fran Kirby stepped in to brush Sweden off into the spotlight at Bramall Lane.

The England players were naturally delighted after the final whistle and stayed on the pitch to celebrate with the fans in attendance for around 20 minutes. Mead was poached by the BBC for a post-match interview but quickly chose to end the conversation in order to join in the fun with her England teammates.

After giving a few short answers, the reporter asked Mead, "You seem really calm, haven't you quite figured it out yet?"

"I really miss this song, I want to go out there and get involved," the England striker said before rushing to celebrate with his teammates as Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline screamed on the floor.
