Blockchain investigator PeckShield reported that approximately $4.8 million worth of crypto was transferred from ZB.com during the exchange announcing the suspension of withdrawals.

In a Wednesday tweet, PeckShield speculated that hackers may be responsible for moving 21 types of tokens off the exchange starting Monday, including Tether (USDT), Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Tesra (TSR). According to the blockchain investigator, the funds total approximately $4.8 million at the time of publication.

The alleged hack followed ZB.com's announcement to suspend deposits and withdrawals on Tuesday in response to "the sudden failure of some core applications." The exchange has warned users not to "deposit digital currency before recovery".

Many crypto users have been affected by recent multi-million dollar hacks. In June, an exploit led to the withdrawal of $100 million from the Horizon Bridge, an inter-chain bridge that facilitated token transfers between the Harmony blockchain and other networks.
