Brazil: child injured during 'elevator' ride at amusement park

This is the terrifying moment a theme park ride crashes to the ground, injuring a mother and two children in the spine.

In the horror footage, the elevator spacecraft ride can be seen gradually ascending the column before suddenly plunging to the ground in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

A child can be seen strapped to the seat of the ride as it climbs up the column before crashing to the ground - with mum also on the ride.

The 12-year-old boy suffered a spinal injury along with his 25-year-old mother.

In addition, a four-year-old child was injured in the accident after complaining of spinal injuries.

Emergency services were dispatched to the funfair after at least two children and a mother suffered spinal injuries

According to local reports, the boy remains in hospital with spinal injuries and doctors are deciding whether or not he needs spinal surgery.
