Jota leaves Celtic to join Saudi side Al-Ittihad

Celtic have confirmed that Portuguese winger Jota has left the Scottish champions to join Saudi side Al-Ittihad.

The 24-year-old makes the permanent switch after two years at Glasgow, having spent a season on loan from Benfica before signing a permanent contract.

Jota helped Celtic win two league titles during his time at the club, scoring 27 goals over a two-year spell in all competitions.

He follows a number of top players who join the Saudi Pro League and becomes Al-Ittihad's third signing this summer after former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and former Real Madrid midfielder Chelsea N'Golo Kante have signed for the club.< /p>

After the signing, Celtic wrote on the club's website: "During his time in hoops, Jota won two league titles and won winners' medals in the Scottish and League Cups.

"Everyone at Celtic Football Club wishes Jota success in his future career."
