Ke Huy Quan Shuts Down 'Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Fate' Cameo Rumor

Ke Huy Quan cannot be in everything, everywhere at once.

The Best Supporting Actor Oscar for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' has confirmed that he will in fact not be appearing in the next installment of the 'Indiana Jones' franchise, 'Dial of Destiny'. Quan previously starred in the 1984 film "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" opposite Harrison Ford when he was 12.

"I mean [yes], but no," Quan said of a "Dial of Destiny" rumor. "That's the thing. I don't want to disappoint the fans. I've joked about it all the time, but reuniting with Harrison after 38 years was very special."

Ford presented Quan and the rest of the 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' cast with the Best Picture Oscar earlier this year.

"Of all the years, seeing him present the award for best picture, at this year's Oscars, was something," the 'American Born Chinese' actor said at the TIME 100 gala, where he was honored to be one. of the 100 most influential people of 2023. “It will always be one of the most memorable nights of my life. And I can't wait to see him put on the fedora again and crack that whip one more time."

For "Dial of Destiny", Quan added, "I'll be the first to watch it."

Indiana Jones star Ford previously praised Quan's performance in "EEAAO", calling Quan "great" in the film.

"I'm so happy to see him and what he's become. I'm so happy for him. He's such a happy guy too," Ford said.

Quan reminisced about seeing Ford at D23 in The New York Times: "We were at the D23 event and I was told Harrison would be there. We're in this green room with so many actors and producers and directors, and the person who was assigned to help me said, "Harrison Ford is just outside the green room. Would you like to say hello?"

The 'Goonies' alum added, "I think, 'Sure!' I haven't seen him in 38 years," Quan continued. "So I go out and see him about 15 feet away. talk to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, they're here to promote "Indy 5". And as I approach, my heart races. I say to myself: 'Is he going to recognize me? The last time he saw me I was a small child. As I approach, he turns and points his finger at me, and he has that classic, famously grumpy Harrison Ford look. I said, "Oh my God, he probably thinks I'm a fan and he's going to tell me not to come near him." But he looks at me and points at me and says, "Are you a little trick?" Immediately I was transported back to 1984, when I was a little kid, and I said, "Yeah, Indy." And he said, "Come here," and he gave me a big hug."
