Ashley, from Chicago, Illinois, has been inundated with negative comments calling it 'animal cruelty' for coloring the one-year-old's fur, despite the fact that dyes non-toxic were used by groomers.
Some of the posts referred to the pet's face as "sad" after the treatment, but the owner was quick to respond, noting that dogs of this breed tend to have "grumpy faces" anyway and that doesn't reflect his "carefree soul".
