Mother-of-three dies suddenly after routine surgery to free her from colostomy bag

A mother of three died suddenly in hospital after undergoing routine surgery.
Dolores Bollard, 55, went to the private Mater Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, for surgery to save her from having to use a colostomy bag.
She was healthy immediately after the colostomy reversal. However, his condition deteriorated the following day.
The mother died two days later, DublinLive reports.
A consultant surgeon told a sitting of Dublin District Coroner's Court that he had never seen a patient suffer such complications in over 14 years of performing such an operation.< /p>
Ms Bollard, of Rush, Co Dublin, was admitted to hospital on 10 September 2020 for an operation to reverse a colostomy.
She required emergency surgery on September 12, 2020 to establish the cause of her deteriorating condition, but was later placed in the hospital's intensive care unit after developing a malfunction multivisceral.
Ms Bollard was pronounced dead in the early hours of September 14, 2020 after a decision was made to remove a life support machine.
Her son, Jamie Bollard, told the inquest that his mother had been using a colostomy bag since 2014 when she had surgery to remove part of her small intestine at Beaumont Hospital.
>Ms Bollard said she was in good health before having surgery at Mater Private Hospital, except for high blood pressure for which she was taking medication.
