Chelsea: Incomprehensible, Boehly does things with his elbow mentality - Ballack on Tuchel

Ex-Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has called the club's decision to sack coach Thomas Tuchel "incomprehensible".

Ballack also insisted that Chelsea need no upheavals in the future following Tuchel's sacking, adding that club co-owner Todd Boehly is doing things differently now with his elbow mentality.

Recall that Boehly marked his 100th day in charge of the west London club by sacking Tuchel earlier in the season.

The American billionaire quickly appointed Graham Potter to replace Tuchel after Chelsea lost to Dinamo Zagreb a few weeks ago.

However, Ballack was surprised to see Boehly fire Tuchel despite the former Paris Saint-Germain manager winning three trophies during his 20 months at Stamford Bridge.

"I was surprised by the sacking," Ballack told SportBILD.

"For me, it was incomprehensible that a coach was fired so quickly.

“Especially because Thomas Tuchel had such success, like winning the Champions League.

"You can see that a new owner brings a new philosophy with a new understanding of ideas. Everyone has their own people they want to rely on, so they made it difficult with the trainer.

"We have to see if it works in the long term. I think you have to approach such a big and successful club with caution. Chelsea don't need upheaval! Todd Boehly is doing things differently now with his mentality of elbow."
