EPL: Why Tottenham lost 2-0 to Man Utd – Conte
Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte says they lost to Manchester United on Wednesday night because they couldn't match their high level.
Fred and Bruno Fernandes both scored for United as they beat Spurs 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Conte's men barely threatened David De Gea in the Red Devils goal and the Italian admitted they deserved to lose.
He told Amazon Prime: "I think in the game United deserved to win. They played a really good game. From our side I think the level needs to be higher, we need to improve a lot and try to be better than today.
"The first goal was a deflection but in the end, I have to be honest and tell you that United played better than us. They created more chances than us. On the pitch, you put the will but you have to show at this level that you have to try to improve and be better. The level was high and United showed today that they are much better than us today.
"I consider United to be a very good team and you know very well what they have done in the transfer market and what they can spend. You are talking about two different levels. In this type of game you can do better. We struggled against Chelsea and Arsenal and today.
"We have to try to improve and it only takes work to achieve that. I repeat, especially in this type of match where the atmosphere is very noisy, United are an important team, we can s 'improve and increase our level.'
