Former Rivers State Governor and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesome Wike says Nigerians would have voted for Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi. they thought he was a better candidate. .
When asked if Obi would have handled the country's economic situation better, Wike replied that he did not want to discuss the election any longer, adding that he (Obi) would have won the February 25 election if he had been better.

He made this known in an exclusive interview with Channels TV on Wednesday.
“I don't want to discuss social media issues, I'm not talking about the presidential candidate anymore; I discuss the economy, the president, what he has to offer.
“If he (Obi) had been better, Nigerians would have voted for him. »
Wike also said that although he is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), there is no indication that he is a minister under an APC-led government.
His words: “I am a member of the PDP, unrepentant. What does this have to do with governance, remember Obasanjo and Atiku; president and vice president in 1999, they caught fire Bola Ige who was a member of the AD, not only to become a minister of power but to become the country's attorney general.
“So what’s new about me serving in the APC government? I served in the PDP, I supported Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yes. Did I hide it? I feel at home working with Tinubu. He gave me this courage. He is a man who wants good for the country.
“I am not here to work for a party; I am here to support the president, who trusts me to help restore hope. I owe no one an apology. I was in the PDP and I worked for Tinubu as president. In the Southeast and South-South, there are no President-Won States except for Rivers State. We don't regret it.
“Tinubu is my boss. He appointed me, he sets my agenda, he gives the model that this is what I want in Abuja and I want to implement it to the letter. »
