The Zamfara State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has witnessed massive defections of political eminences to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

DAILY POST has gathered that one of the decamped, Alhaji Rabiu Ilili Bakura, said they were with former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari but his reconciliation with Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle forced them out of the party .

Some of the political heavyweights who ditched the APC and embraced the opposition PDP are Salihu Maibuhu, Alhaji Rabiu Ilili Bakura, Alhaji Abubakar Baragaja and thousands of their supporters in the state.

According to the decamped, they were not comfortable with the reconciliation between Governor Bello Mohammed Matagall and former governor Abdul Aziz Yari and would not want to get involved in politics with the former.

"We are not comfortable with the kangaroo reconciliation between Governor Matawall and former Governor Yari and have chosen to decamp to the opposition PDP in the state," they lamented.

In a quick reaction, APC Publicity Secretary Comrade Yusuf Idris Gusau said APC would be even stronger in the state, saying they had no official informed the party of their decision, which had no other reason than self-glorification. .

According to one of the decamped, Alhaji Rabiu Ilili Bakura, "all of us who decamped in opposition PDP have since built our own political dynasties and do not rely on anyone when it comes to Zamfara State politics ."

This media also understood that when the reconciliation process between Governor Matawalle and former Governor Yari began, most members of former Governor Yari's camp rejected the decision.
