A table where Haaland is not the top scorer. Mbappé is worth 55 million euros more than him

October 20 - Erling Haaland may be the hottest striker in world football right now, but Kylian Mbappé remains the most valuable footballer at 222.9 million euros, according to data from the Football Benchmark team.

Their data puts Haaland almost €60m behind him, with a value of €165.6m. Haaland's Man City team-mate Phil Foden and Real Madrid's Vinícius Jr. are tied for third and fourth with the same value of €136.8m.

Out-of-form Jude Bellingham, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Pedri come fifth, sixth and seventh respectively - all elite young players logging meaningful minutes for their clubs.

The ranking of the top ten 10 players by market value shows that "six out of ten players come from the English Premier League (EPL), once again demonstrating its dominance over other leagues", says Football Benchmark.< /p>

"There are also no representatives from Italy's Serie A, which is the only 'Big Five' league not to make the list. Note that the composition of the top 10 has remained mostly constant: nine out of ten players were already on the list in July. The only new entry is Mason Mount, who is expected to renew his contract with Chelsea FC soon and therefore potentially increase his valuation further."

Gavi tops the list of players in terms of estimated value growth over July, driven primarily by its recently renewed contract; he is now linked to FC Barcelona until June 2026.

The ranking of the most valuable players under 21 is dominated by Dortmund's Bellingham, while Gavi is ranked second. FC Barcelona has the most representatives in this ranking with Gavi, Ansu Fati and with Pedri.

"Premier League dominance is even more evident when we analyze the top 10 teams by estimated market value: all of the EPL's 'Big Six' are among them. The only club above the value of the billion euro team is Manchester City, while Liverpool, FC Bayern München, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are all very close to that threshold,” says Football Benchmark.

"AC Milan sits just outside the top 10 with a team value of €694m: they won the Scudetto in the 2021/2022 season, increasing the value of key members of their squad and then spent over €30m on the signing of talented Belgian striker, Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge KV.”
