Now the Bronx Documentary Center in New York will host an exhibition of works from the monograph of the artist, The Eyes of the City.

< p class="mol-para-with-font">Visitors can step into Sandler's personal story in New York City from 1977 to 2001, which includes never-before-seen shots, through an extended date of March 26, 2023.

A native of Queens, Sandler's street photography offers a rare window into the realities of daily life in the Big Apple.

The photographs show the inherent tension of America's largest city, weary commuters locked in a noisy subway, couples finding love in the quieter moments and families forced to face the reality of the city's large homeless population.

The exhibition also features nt three of the artist's films, capturing the different experiences of a transition period of gentrification in Times Square and East Village from 1999 to 2006.

Sandler moved from photography to exclusively directing films after 9/11, most recently directing Radioactive City in 2011.
